Sensory Squadron @ ROF59
The Sensory Squad is a brand-new dedicated team, designed to run all aspects of our Sensory, Rebound Therapy, Group Sessions and clubs 7 days a week. With the addition of our brand-new sensory room, we plan to take our SEND programs to the next level.
Staff throughout the centre are also being trained to SEND awareness ensuring the whole centre is an all-inclusive environment for all that visit us!
Sensory Room
Calm Sensory Session Times
The calming sensory room is where it all began: the very first sensory rooms were intended to be calming spaces, and many users still benefit from using our sensory room.
For children and adults with special needs that incorporate difficulties with filtering sensory input, too much external stimulation can be overwhelming. For those with severe learning difficulties or dementia, the frustration caused by the struggle to understand their surroundings can be the cause of a heightened state of anxiety or distress. These scenarios, if left can cause a “meltdown” Calming sensory rooms work by providing gentle stimuli to various senses,  with our twinkle lights in the ceiling, two large bubble tubes, fibre optic lights and relaxing sounds its the perfect place to truly feel calm.
Our sensory room is manned by a qualified member of staff at all times. To assist and support carers and customers.
